Daniel Remembers Michael Jackson's "Genius"
JUNE 30, 2009, 9:15 am
Daniel Merriweather was performing live on Seven's Sunrise when he heard the news that left him initially speechless.
"I think any performer from any genre of music would, even subconsciously, reference him as a benchmark for the perfect performer," he told AAP.
"He kind of defied genre. I don't think there's anyone who would say they weren't a fan."

Years and years on i wasn't as obsessed publicly as i was then, but in my own private time i was. I'd cry at TV footage because he just sent electricity through me.. it provoked a reaction i had no control over. Tiffany Jewellery links of london

I'm not joking but honestly I had a great time with Mark but this is very different. What do you all think? Did anyone catch his performance. Link building package

Gone to Soon xx
I remember looking on twitter that night, crying my eyes out and there was Dans comment "Speechless" i cried even more. I do feel like Ive neglected Merriweather fan duties of late, I've not searched for stuff or read articles or said hello to other fans/friends much lately. Michael was my first love as i can remember -music wise. I have these memories of being about 7 years old and my mum letting me watch thriller on video after badgering her and being told it would scare me. I didn't care, i just wanted to see it. I wanted to see and read EVERYTHING about Michael. I had my room covered in posters, i was subscribed to the Official Magazine and so young, i must have liked him for a year or 2 leading up to that too. I idolized him, like a father figure. Years and years on i wasn't as obsessed publicly as i was then, but in my own private time i was. I'd cry at TV footage because he just sent electricity through me.. it provoked a reaction i had no control over. In 1997 at the age of 17 i was lucky enough to see him Live during the History tour. I was allowed, with 4 friends, to travel to Wembley, stay in a hotel and go see him. Thats pretty good for 17. I barely remember the gig, i cried the whole way through. I remember the crane thing coming out over the crowd and he kind of hung off it RIGHT ABOVE MY HEAD. My friends thought i was gonna pass out... I'm surprised i didn't. lol
Michael was my idol and ignited my passion for Music....I'm unbelievably sad that he is gone!
People continue to surprise me, i felt so heart broken on Thursday but my passion for music, and of late- Daniels music, has made me some amazing friends. It was 2 fellow Merriweather fans that live at the opposite end of the country that i turned to- Lorraine (Lolrox below) and Shari Knowles. They are both huge MJ fans too and we have cried and talked online and on the phone and shared so much that I would be lost without them.
Some of my longest standing friends can't understand my passion for Dans music and, since I've met him, of him as a person. Yeah I'm a bit of a Daniel geek but i don't care, not only has he entertained me and brought stunning music to my ears, he has made me some amazing new friends around the world. Thank you Dan, you mean the world to me, right at a time when it feels like my whole world has changed.
R.I.P Michael. You will always be my idol.
Love ya Dan- hope you'll always be a kind of friend....
R.I.P Michael Jackson
